Community - Art - Fun
There's more to do in Las Vegas then gamble on the Strip or Fremont Street. The Arts District, connecting Downtown with the Strip, is an eclectic collection of independent businesses, vibrant art galleries and a mix of single family residences and modern apartment living spaces. We are a community of interesting people.
The Arts District started almost 25 years ago with 18 blocks of hardworking small businesses and local artists. We've grown but we still embrace our humble beginnings. As we became more popular and the investors continued to move in, we, the community, realized we needed to do something to help keep art in the Arts District.
Our First Annual Chalk It Down! Art Festival celebrates our local artists all sponsored by our local businesses. There is no entry fee for the artists to join this festival because our businesses have stepped up to produce this fantastic family fun event! They are paying the artists and sponsoring the art. Our community is the best! So come out and enjoy the real Las Vegas. The City of Las Vegas is Down for Anything and the Arts District is ready to Chalk it Down! with you
Some of the 2024 Art
We had over 42 artists participate at all levels from first time chalk artists to professionals. Those who participated in the judged contest created their pieces in a 5' x 5' square of sidewalk in front of sponsoring businesses on Main Street, Commerce Street and Colorado Avenue. They used only water sidewalk chalk and soft pastels, all temporary materials.
