DESCRIPTION
The city of Las Vegas Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs invites the submission of proposals for individual and group fine art exhibitions for its 2024-2025 gallery season and beyond. Exhibition proposals reviewed for programming in multiple spaces: predominantly the Charleston Heights Arts Center Gallery at 800 S. Brush St., Las Vegas, NV 89107, and the City Hall Grand Gallery at 495 S. Main St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
GOAL
The city of Las Vegas gallery program wishes to highlight artwork created nationally to promote artistic growth through exposure to skillful and thought-provoking artwork.
EXHIBITION THEME
Open to all artistic themes as long as the content is appropriate for public audiences of all ages. Proposals containing graphic depictions of violence, sexually explicit imagery, and/or nudity are strongly discouraged.
ELIGIBILITY
All contemporary visual art practices suitable for gallery installations lasting at least 12 weeks are considered. Artists should be age 18 and above or show advanced processes, concepts, and skills in proposal materials. All exhibition materials must show cohesion and sensible concept, and/or have clear and concise exhibit text to be on display with the artwork. The work must be dynamic and thought-provoking.
TO APPLY
To participate in the screening, artists/curators must submit a written exhibition outline clearly explaining the concept of the exhibit. Please provide information in .doc or .pdf with 15 to 20 supporting images, an image identification list, artist statement(s), and artist resume(s). Upload one .pdf/.doc or separate .pdfs/.docs. Please make sure each one is labeled with your name and working exhibit title. In addition, other suitable supporting materials may include scans of exhibition cards and press clippings, both of which are optional.
SELECTION
A team of professional artists, teachers, curators, or administrators will help select the proposals.
